Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Chukchuk Janggi (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application on iOS (App Store) or Android (Google Play). The app has no accounts and no sign-in. You play against the computer, or with another person on the same phone; there is no online play.

Information We Collect

1. Analytics Data

The app uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data so we can improve the game:

• App usage events such as starting or finishing a game, the computer’s level, using undo, opening the game review, and turning sound or voice on or off
• An app instance ID generated by Firebase (this is not your advertising ID and is removed when you uninstall the app)
• Device type and operating system version

On iOS, if you allow tracking (see App Tracking Transparency below), Firebase Analytics may also receive your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA).

This data is collected automatically and is not used to identify you personally.

2. Advertising Data

Google AdMob shows an ad between some games against the computer (never during a game, a review, or a two-player game). AdMob may collect:

• Advertising ID (on Android, you can reset or delete it in your device settings; on iOS, the IDFA is used only if you allow tracking)
• Device information and IP address used to deliver and measure ads

Where required by law (for example in the EEA and the UK), the app asks for your consent before requesting ads, using Google’s consent tool. You can change your choice at any time in the app’s Settings.

App Tracking Transparency (iOS): when you first open the app, it asks once whether it may track you. If you allow it, AdMob can use your advertising identifier (IDFA) to show personalized ads. If you don’t, you see non-personalized ads. The number of ads is the same either way. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

3. Local Data

The following data is stored only on your device and is never sent to us:

• The game in progress, your last finished game (for review), your level and win/loss record
• App settings (sound, vibration, voice, background sound, piece setup)

Voice Announcements

Calls such as “장군” (check) are spoken by your device’s built-in text-to-speech engine. We do not receive or store any audio.

In-App Purchases

The app offers a one-time “remove ads” purchase through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Billing (Android). The payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your payment information.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Photos, videos, microphone recordings, or files
• Contacts or calendar data

Third-Party Services

• Firebase Analytics (Privacy Policy)
• Google AdMob (Privacy Policy, How Google uses information from apps that use its services)
• Apple App Store (iOS) / Google Play Billing (Android) - for the one-time “remove ads” purchase

Data Security

Local data stays on your device and we have no access to it. Analytics and advertising data are sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and handled by Google according to its security standards.

Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights and Choices

• Reset or delete your advertising ID: in your device settings
• Opt out of personalized ads: in your device’s privacy settings
• Allow or stop tracking (iOS): in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking
• Change your ad consent (EEA/UK): in the app’s Settings
• Delete local data: uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data

Because the app has no accounts and the collected data is not linked to your identity, we cannot look up or delete data for a specific person.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new Privacy Policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date.
