Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Sulsul Nanmal (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. The app has no accounts and no sign-in.

Information We Collect

1. Analytics Data

The app uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data so we can improve the puzzles:

• App usage events such as starting or finishing a level, using a hint, and using the read-aloud or large-text features
• An app instance ID generated by Firebase (this is not your advertising ID and is removed when you uninstall the app)
• Device type and operating system version

This data is collected automatically and is not used to identify you personally.

2. Advertising Data

Google AdMob shows an ad after finishing some levels, and an ad you choose to watch in exchange for hints. AdMob may collect:

• Advertising ID (you can reset or delete it in your device settings)
• Device information and IP address used to deliver and measure ads

Where required by law (for example in the EEA and the UK), the app asks for your consent before requesting ads, using Google’s consent tool. You can change your choice at any time in the app’s Settings.

3. Local Data

The following data is stored only on your device and is never sent to us:

• Puzzle progress, solved words, and hint count
• App settings (sound, text size)

Read-Aloud

The read-aloud feature uses your device’s built-in text-to-speech engine. Clue text is spoken by the engine on your device; we do not receive or store it.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Photos, videos, microphone recordings, or files
• Contacts or calendar data

Third-Party Services

• Firebase Analytics (Privacy Policy)
• Google AdMob (Privacy Policy, How Google uses information from apps that use its services)
• Google Play Billing - for the one-time “remove ads” purchase, handled entirely by Google. We never see your payment information.

Dictionary Content

Word meanings are based on the Basic Korean Dictionary (한국어기초사전) by the National Institute of Korean Language, used under the CC BY-SA 2.0 KR license. This content is bundled in the app and involves no data collection.

Data Security

Local data stays on your device and we have no access to it. Analytics and advertising data are sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and handled by Google according to its security standards.

Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights and Choices

• Reset or delete your advertising ID: in your device settings
• Opt out of personalized ads: in your device’s privacy settings
• Change your ad consent (EEA/UK): in the app’s Settings
• Delete local data: uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data

Because the app has no accounts and the collected data is not linked to your identity, we cannot look up or delete data for a specific person.
